What our users say…

They come from Australia, the United States, UK, France, Sweden, Iceland…

Everything's great. Thank you! This is exactly what we were looking for. I found the attached instructions on how to install it "very" useful. Basically they helped very much in preventing simple, but probably significant in effect mistakes. Photo attached. You won't see much on it because of white facing tape, but that's probably the point.

Installation

  • Clean surface of frame if soiled.
  • Use the alcohol swabs provided as a final wipe to ensure that the surfaces are spotless.
  • Porous surfaces such as raw timber and concrete must be sealed. If surfaces are left unsealed the natural oils and moisture leach out hindering the performance of the adhesive.
  • The surface of your frame must be clean and sound i.e. no flaky or old paint. New paint must be fully cured.
  • Install adhesive hook on clean, dry surfaces only.
  • Hook should be installed at room temp. of 18°C or higher for best results. If applied at a temp. lower, warm frame and hook (with hair dryer) to increase bond.
  • Do not touch the adhesive, not even with hands and ensure that your scissors are clean too.
  • Do not pre-cut hook and attach to the screen; attach directly to window frame, one side at a time and cut.
  • The hook cannot be lifted and repositioned.
  • Resistance to edge peeling can be improved by nipping or rounding corner of hook.
  • Mitre hook for curves. Butt join square corners.
  • Apply pressure to hook with Stanley knife handle or teaspoon to activate the Pressure Sensitive Adhesive.
  • Allow curing, don't use screens for 24 hours. All folds will fall out.
  • If corners lift then this is an indication that the tape has been contaminated during installation this can be resolved with a drop of super glue.
  • Fresh paint must be cured for 3-4months before installing your Flexiscreens fly screens, paint vapours inhibit the strong performance of the glue.
  • Don't forget, the adhesive is pressure sensitive so ensure that you apply pressure to the whole strip of hook. Pay extra attention to corners as these sometimes get over looked.
