How to measure windows accurately for your Flexiscreens

To measure accurately, you need to decide where you will stick the self adhesive hook side of the VELCRO® brand fastener for your flexiscreens insect screens.

You need a minimum width of 13mm (.5 inch) surface to stick the self-adhesive hook side of the VELCRO® brand fastener.

If you measure the aperture (the opening), we will add on the amount (13mm / 0.5″) for the VELCRO® brand fastener to all sides when we make your flexiscreens bug screens. We call this the UNFINISHED size.

Alternatively,you can give us the FINISHED size (With the width of the VELCRO® brand fastener included) of your flexiscreens. There is a selection box on the order page to indicate your choice.

“A” shows a window with the sill level and with architraves that are set back. The hook side of the VELCRO® brand fastener attaches to the frame next to the architrave and flat on the sill. A
“B”shows the hook side of the VELCRO® brand fastener attaching to the vertical face. B
“C” shows the hook side of the VELCRO® brand fastener attaching to the vertical face of the architrave and flat on the sill. C
“D” shows the surface of the “reveal” of the window frame. The VELCRO® brand fastener can attach here, we cut out the corners to fit like the lid of a box. Please tell us when ordering if you require a reveal fit for your flexiscreen. D

flexiscreens fly screens are edged with a cover tape (in your choice of 4 colours). See order page.
Underneath the cover tape is the mesh, followed by the loop side of the VELCRO® brand fastener, double stitched for durability.
You will receive a roll of the self-adhesive hook side of the VELCRO® brand fastener, and easy to follow installation instructions with your flexiscreens insect screen.
flexiscreens fly screen can be used for numerous applications provided you have a 13 mm (.5 inch) width surface to stick the self adhesive hook side of the VELCRO® brand fastener.

If your window has curved corners just give us the radius and we can mitre to fit the curve.
When you give us the measurements of your bug screen indicate which corner(s)
is / are to be mitred. See sketch of Lobster back below.

How to apply tape

If you want to attach your fly screen to the reveal of the frame (this is the surface that is at right angles to the window) just let us know when you order, and we will do the rest.

Cut-outs for locks on security doors or windows and winders are not a problem. See images.
